Taking an L, Penguin Comic, and Symbolic Abstraction Process

1 Update 🧍🏻♀️
I took a massive L a month ago.
Well, actually for the past 8 or so years.
Last month, I passed my Grade 10 RCM Piano exam (and when I say pass, I mean “if the examiner was a little less generous I would’ve failed” type of pass).
As much as I love the arts, I do not have ANY passion for piano. I lost a solid amount of hours a week for all those years to something I dreaded, and I’ll never get them back.
A while back, I had the option to quit piano, but I decided to push on just to pass the shiny Grade 10 benchmark.
I didn’t enjoy it at all.
Now that I (barely) reached my goal, I don’t feel any better or different than Elly who didn’t pass Piano 10.
In a way, I’m grateful for this experience.
As Pinterest quote-y as this sounds, the process is the most important part of the journey. I finally understand the importance of enjoying and getting value out of the process while working towards the goal. I hope, at least.
